Civic Design
The framework and the tools. A method for activating situated collective intelligence in public and social projects.
Tending the lived infrastructures that keep democracy alive.
Italian based in Valencia. I design spaces —physical and digital— where encounter turns into public and social innovation.
I don’t work by formats but by intention. Everything I do falls into four lines that cross one another.
The framework and the tools. A method for activating situated collective intelligence in public and social projects.
The institutional work. Methodologies and networks that take participation beyond participation-washing.
The digital line. Guiding the use of AI without losing the underlying ethical criterion, and sharing knowledge so we don’t delegate judgment.
The physical line. Food as an engine of cultural, social and democratic encounter, and as a base for agri-food resilience.
My English-language editorial platform where I think of democracy not as an abstract system but as lived infrastructure: the spaces, technologies, protocols and cultures that sustain the public sphere day by day. Honest critique and deep essay, no shortcuts.

I research how to build public presence without handing it over to platforms designed to capture attention. I prefer newsletters, email and places to meet, and I work to make that alternative viable for organisations and institutions too.
Manifesto
“Let technology serve encounter, not capture.”
A manifesto and an invitation: leave the infinite scroll and rebuild a digital life with intention, presence and sovereignty over your own attention.
For years I have been activating hybrid spaces: physical places where the digital and the in-person cross, and where people who didn’t know each other start doing things together. They are not offices: they are living civic infrastructure.
Now · Benimaclet, Valencia
A neighbourhood coworking in Benimaclet that I run and manage. More than shared desks, it is a meeting node: an affordable space where projects, neighbourhood and community coexist.
A trajectory of hybrid spaces
Coworking and fab-lab. One of the first FoodLabs in the world.
A gastronomic laboratory as an infrastructure for encounter.
A space for civic innovation and collective practices.
A node of culture, community and urban experimentation.
A physical workshop in Valencia where the gastronomic and the digital cross in practice. We cook, test and explore together what we want AI to do for us —and what we don’t.
In Valencia
If you want to join to activate Cocina IA —as a cook, technologist, space or simply eager to make things— let’s talk.
Beyond Valencia
If the idea inspires you and you want to bring a Cocina IA to your city, I share method, learnings and support to get it going.
For over a decade I have been opening, systematising and teaching a discipline of my own: how to activate collective intelligence for public and social innovation. From method to network, from book to classroom, and now to artificial intelligence too.
I instigated CivicWise, an international network focused on civic innovation that connects people, collectives and territories.
I created the first Civic Design course in online format. I still teach the discipline today.
The first prototype of an ecosystem that harnesses AI in the service of civic design: to think and facilitate, not to replace.
A visual toolkit and the Collective Intelligence Canvas, to bring the method to teams, institutions and communities.
The book

I work to make democratic innovation more than a slogan: methodologies, infrastructures and processes that take participation beyond participation-washing, both from within organisations and by accompanying others.
Institutional role
As Community & Membership Lead, I help shape the organisation’s strategy and cultivate international communities of practice around democracy as lived infrastructure, including methodologies such as Democratic Social Infrastructures (DSI).
Consulting and mentoring
I advise and accompany digital democracy projects as consultant and mentor: participatory process design, platforms, open governance and tools that connect citizens with institutions.
I accompany institutions, public administrations, organisations, foundations, companies and European consortia in their most demanding challenges of democratic innovation, civic design and territorial transformation. Selective, rigorous and deeply personalised work.
An expert, focused look to understand a challenge in depth, open the right questions and chart the path. Clarity before acting.
A relationship sustained over time: presence, judgment and direction throughout a whole process. For those who need a stable ally.
Design and conduct of high-level participatory and collective processes: from the methodological framework to facilitation in the room.
